WORK

The work that’s made a difference.

At shelf, confectionery is usually sold with the same tired cues: product shots, prices and promises of ‘delicious.’ But taste is the real driver of desire, and taste is impossible to truly photograph, film or convincingly animate. So, we used AI to do what traditional production couldn’t: visualise taste itself, transforming flavour into digital art.
Woolworths is one of South Africa’s most trusted retail brands. With sustainability at the heart of their long-term strategy, they needed that commitment to move beyond reports and packaging and engage with consumers at store level, in an approachable and accessible way.
10X Investments had a strong product offering but very low brand awareness. Fewer than 10% of people had even heard of the brand, even when prompted. We were tasked to move 10X Investments from obscurity to meaningful awareness within 6 months.
In a crowded Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) market, brands often sound interchangeable. PayJustNow needed a voice that could stand out and resonate with South Africans in a way competitors hadn’t yet attempted.
In 2014, we partnered with the V&A Waterfront to launch a property that we named ‘The Watershed’, transforming a historic warehouse into a contemporary space that now serves as Cape Town’s premier destination for craft, design, and entrepreneurial incubation.
Geberit is a Swiss company that has expanded into 50 markets, including South Africa. Its products are innovative and have a quality guarantee that surpasses most competitors. Their product ranges are adapted to suit local markets. Why shouldn’t their tone be?
The City of Cape Town needed to shift the way its residents saw electricity usage, at scale. We recognised this wasn’t an awareness problem, but one of urgency and personal accountability, and created a campaign that turned energy saving into something immediate, tangible and impossible to ignore.
We helped Mpact Recycling turn a practical recycling message into entertaining social content over National Clean-Up & Recycle Week. By using comedians, awful food combinations and a simple analogy, we showed consumers why recyclables and non-recyclables should be kept apart.
TransUnion is a company that creates data tools on a global scale. They needed a communications agency that could deliver as accurately and efficiently as they did, while servicing local markets.
At COP17 in Durban, we helped the City of Cape Town showcase its climate-smart ambitions to the world. We created a campaign that did more than talk: from awareness activations to a fully off-grid, zero-waste pavilion, every touchpoint embodied the city’s commitment to climate action.
As the Sustainable Seas Trust (SST) expanded from ocean conservation into community-driven economic and environmental impact, its brand no longer reflected its ambition. We rebuilt the identity to position SST at the intersection of cleaner seas, waste innovation, and the growing blue economy in Africa.
The blind and shutter category doesn’t exactly stop you in your scroll. Beyond aesthetics, their products are inherently functional. Our challenge was to build brand interest and relevance for Taylor Blinds beyond product features, using content that people would actively choose to engage with.
WWF SASSI sat with a growing crisis: the depletion of our ocean’s fish stocks. Our challenge was one part awareness, one part behaviour change. We had to influence consumers and industry to make responsible seafood choices, ensuring our oceans continue to thrive.
Petco’s mandate has expanded to include more recyclable materials, more stakeholders and a more complex role within the circular economy now that Extended Producer Responsibility has become mandatory. We needed to evolve the brand, reflecting both its authority and its growing responsibility.
There’s an entire industry working to give packaging a second life, but few people ever see it. We set out to change that for Petco, SA’s leading Producer Responsibility Organisation. Through a documentary-led content series, we revealed the people, partnerships and innovations driving South Africa’s recycling economy forward.
Mpact operates at the heart of South Africa’s circular economy, with their recycling and waste management businesses working together inside the larger group. Mpact Recycling needed a circular economy communications strategy that clearly differentiated its recycling and waste management businesses while strengthening the visibility of both brands.
Mpact had a powerful circular economy story hiding in plain sight. Our task was to help a large, listed paper and plastic packaging and recycling group make its integrated ESG story visible, simple and compelling to investors, customers and internal stakeholders.
Derrick has been the creative partner for the Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) since 2012, playing a pivotal role in developing and maintaining their brand identity. We’ve helped transform a derelict bowling green into a brand that supports the community and contributes to Cape Town.
