The site of the farm comprises part of the original Oranje Zigt Farmstead, which supplied Cape Town with its fresh produce many centuries ago. The logo’s form and colour recalls the diamond-shaped clay tiles that were used in the construction of the homestead by the early Dutch settlers.

The farm was the venue for a weekend market, bringing people together to enjoy the fruits of this inner-city land. The market has since relocated to the V&A Waterfront, which is still frequented by locals, and the farm continues to produce.

We’ve had to devise many practical communication solutions around community notifications, reusability of collateral and enduring messaging. And all without compromising the premium design aesthetic we created for the OZCF.

To economise on budget, we ensure that the OZCF can create much of the collateral needed cost effectively – from signage to the market traders’ chalkboards – while still adhering to a consistent design language.
